As the jack-o'-lanterns glow and the spooky season is in full swing, we're thrilled to share the enchanting recap of another successful Spooktacular Alumni Week at Fit Farm. This annual event has become a tradition that our alumni eagerly anticipate, and this year, we pulled out all the stops to make it truly unforgettable.
Fit Farm's Spooktacular Alumni Week isn't just about getting into the Halloween spirit, though the costumes and pumpkin-carving contests certainly add to the fun. It's a time for our Fit Farm family to come together, celebrate their wellness journey, and take their commitment to health and fitness to a whole new level. Team Spirit and Competitions
During this year's Spooktacular Alumni Week, our alumni formed spirited teams with creative names such as the Witch Doctors, Purple Poison, Bone Collectors, and Pumpkin Pumpers. These teams united in a celebration of fitness, fun, and camaraderie. Join us in getting to know the spirit and energy they brought to our alumni week!

Following the exciting introductions of our spirited teams, it was time for the real action to begin. They tackled a diverse array of challenges, including a thrilling scavenger hunt and the Survivor Series competition.
The competition was fierce, and each team brought their distinctive flair to the events, each showcasing their strength, unity, and determination. Ultimately, it was the "Witch Doctors" who emerged victorious. Their impressive performance earned each team member $250.00 in Whippy Bucks towards their next Fit Farm stay!
Festive Foods with a Healthy Twist
During Alumni Week, we didn't just focus on fitness and fun challenges; we also indulged in festive foods with a healthy twist. Our registered dietitian, Laura, worked her magic to add a spooky spin to some delicious and nutritious treats. Let's dive into the spooktacular creations she brought to our tables during this unforgettable week!
Green Monster Apple Snacks: Laura worked her magic, turning ordinary apples into a ghoulish delight. She sliced these apples into eerie green monsters, proving that healthy eating can be both fun and frightfully tasty. The best part is that you can easily recreate this treat at home. Festive Chips: As part of our Lunch and Learn class, Laura introduced us to a delightfully simple and tasty snack: Festive Chips. She crafted spooky pita chips using Joseph's Lavash Bread, transforming them into eerie shapes with cookie cutters. After a light splash of oil and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning, she air-fried them at 350ºF for a mere minute or two. These homemade festive chips came out perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor. They made for a delightful addition alongside Chef Carl's black bean hummus!
Freakishly Fun Pumpkin Decorating
Our spirited alumni fully embraced the Halloween season by seamlessly weaving pumpkins into their themed workouts, blending exercise with artistic creativity. The excitement kicked up a notch when they moved on to paint, carve, and adorn their pumpkins, unleashing their inner artists in a burst of creative expression. At the end of it all, they participated in a lively contest, with Fit Farm alumni in the Facebook group (if you're a Fit Farm Alumni and not part of this group yet, be sure to join for wholesome goodness with your Fit Farm family!) casting their votes for their favorite pumpkins. The competition was fierce, and after the votes were tallied, Tammy's whimsical Cookie Monster pumpkin claimed the coveted title in the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Her enchanting creation secured her $150 in Whippy Bucks to use toward her next Fit Farm stay. A commendable second place went to the M&M-themed pumpkins, collaboratively crafted by the talented trio of Frank, Libby, and Shay, each of whom walked away with $50 in Whippy Bucks.
Spine-Tingling Costumes
The alumni truly outdid themselves with their spooktacular costumes. The costumes were not only creatively designed but also represented the fun nature in each guest. From ghoulishly charming witches to festive felines, the Fit Farm family were in the spooky spirit! It's a testament to the fun-loving spirit that characterizes every Fit Farm alumni week.
The winners of the Costume Contest took everyone's breath away by channeling the Spice Ghouls, reimagining the iconic Spice Girls as enchanting Halloween spirits. Their infectious energy and flair for performance turned the Halloween celebration into a memorable show. The winners of this creative contest each received $150 in Whippy Bucks, which they can use toward their next thrilling Fit Farm stay.

It's worth noting that many of these talented costume creators were the same individuals who took home the title in last year's alumni week costume contest as the Rolling Bones. Their consistent enthusiasm and commitment to dressing up with creativity and flair bring a sense of unity and fun to each Fit Farm alumni gathering. The Fit Farm family knows how to make any occasion extraordinary, and Halloween was no exception!
Fit Farm Halloween Bash
As we celebrated the Fit Farm Halloween Bash on Friday night, our festivities were nothing short of a spooktacular experience. With the enchanting Spice Ghouls captivating the evening with a mesmerizing performance, our alumni dined on a delicious spread, featuring Turkey Chili and sweet potatoes that captured the essence of the fall season.
Embracing the spooky spirit of Halloween, we couldn't resist the allure of a tractor hayride through the farm's picturesque surroundings. Our spirited alumni sang songs, danced, and laughed heartily as we rode through the farm, taking in the enchanting sights and sounds of the evening.
The highlight of our tractor hayride adventure was the grand finale at the bonfire pit. Here, our Fit Farm family came together to celebrate with even more dancing, singing, and heartfelt camaraderie. It was the perfect way to conclude an exhilarating and unforgettable day at the Fit Farm Halloween Bash.
